Weaving with words

It is no accident that the words “text” and “textile” share a common origin in the Latin texere, to weave. A text is a fabric of words that are woven together to form a meaningful whole. The purpose of a translation, therefore, is to recreate a text using a different material — that of the target language — in such a way that it has the same meaning and the same effect on the reader as the source text.

As a qualified translator with several years’ professional experience, I analyse every thread and fibre of your source text and use great care and professionalism to weave an equivalent, culturally appropriate target text which not only transports all the necessary information, but also has exactly the impact you want it to have.

Apart from a thorough knowledge of my languages and subject areas, my greatest strengths are my linguistic creativity and excellent writing skills in German. As a freelancer, I look after your text from start to finish and am always available for questions. I approach every task with a proactive mindset and am always striving to provide real added value for my clients.
