My two main areas of specialisation are clothing and food. They captivate me because, on the one hand, they are fundamental human needs. On the other hand, an incredibly rich culture has developed around them — what we wear and why, what we eat when and how — and production and consumption in both areas give rise to important social and ecological questions.

Apart from these basics of our daily lives, I am also fascinated by the question of where we come from and why the world is as it is. Another specialisation of mine, therefore, is history as well as current international politics.
